How to Increase Golf Club Distances For All of Your Clubs!

More distance could be considered the holy grail of golf, ask any golfer what he or she wants most and it will most likely be more distance or to get rid of the slice. It turns out that if you can get rid of the slice all of your golf club distances will improve.

While getting rid of a slice swing pattern would be a major contributor to improved distance, it is only one of many adjustments that could be made in the average golf swing.

Most of the changes needed are small and can be incorporated over a few practice sessions with dramatic results. In addition to the swing adjustments you may need to make, you will need to increase your club head speed.

One mistake many golfers make when trying to increase club head speed is to hit balls while doing it. The proper way to begin swinging in balance and create better swing tempo is to practice without hitting golf balls. Get the swing motion feeling natural, with good balance and tempo, and you may find that you have already added significant club head speed.

Some of the basics are;

Proper Grip - As the only point of contact that your body has with the club, if your grip is not correct the rest of your swing will be negatively impacted.
Athletic Stance - All sports have an athletic starting position, especially those that involve a throwing or hitting motion. Most amateur golfers lean to far forward at address, causing most of their weight to be on their toes.
The Backswing - A proper start to the backswing is where "lag" is initially created. The more "lag" you create and maintain until a natural release influences balance, tempo, and club head speed.
Getting to The Top - Shoulder turn and a natural relaxed lifting of the arms will get you to the perfect top position, shaft pointing at target and club face square. The
Downswing and Pivot - The downswing is started by beginning to rotate the hips toward the target, the arms and hands begin to "fall" into place, just short of the impact area the arms begin to rotate as the body moves against and pivots on the firm left leg.
The Follow Through - After impact, the turn or pivot continues until the front of your body is fully facing the target, your legs are almost touching, your arms and shoulders have fully rotated, and you stand completely balanced watching your shot go exactly where you planned.
Ads by Google

Some of the more subtle Items;

Swing Path - From the inside to straight down the line and on plane.
Head Position - The head does move during the golf swing, however it only moves forward after impact. Next time you watch a pro event on television, pay attention to the players heads when they profile a swing. The eyes are looking at the ball at impact, and the head is positioned as much as two feet behind the golf ball.
Center Contact - In order to maximize distance for a given swing and club head speed, the club must be square and contact the ball as close to the exact center of the club face as possible.
How subtle is center contact?

Many golf fans have marveled at the seemingly effortless swing of golf great Fred Couples, and the distance he is able to generate.

I remember hearing a story about an interviewer asking Fred how come he always wore his irons out precisely in the center of the clubface, Fred replied that he was not aware of that fact, and really did not know why. In reality Fred distance and effortless swing are both partial products of very consistent center contact, and because the question was about his irons, one can assume that he makes center contact with all of his clubs.

The follow up question was how do you always hit your ball in the center of the club face? Fred was not really aware of it.

Short Game Shots Overview - Pitch, Chip, Bump and Run, Flop

Surely you have heard "drive for show, putt for dough", meaning that the real scoring is done with the short game. In reality if you don't get down the fairway you are still not going to score well. You really need to be good at all phases of the game.

The problem is that nothing in golf is more inflating to a player's ego or more exciting than hitting a long bomb right down the middle of the fairway. This is one reason so many recreational golfers spend the majority of their practice time, if they practice at all, hitting their driver.

Watch almost any random golfer walk onto the driving range at your local course, see how long it is before they pull out the long stick... if it's not first out of the bag.

The correct way to practice would be to spend equal amounts of time on all parts of your game. They don't call the short game the scoring game without reason. If you are inside 100 yards, and you do not have the shots to get home you can rack up a lot of strokes.

There are some specialized shots that you need to know how to execute well in the short game, for example;

Pitch shot - The pitch shot can be made with any iron and is usually used when you have an odd distance to the green, too close for a full wedge.
Chip shot - A chip shot is used close to the green, the goal would be to chip the ball over the fringe and roll it to the hole. Use anything from a wedge to a 5 iron depending on how much roll is needed.
Bump and run - This low risk shot is similar to the chip shot, but used from farther away from the green 10 to 20 feet. Same goal, in the air to the green and them roll to the cup. Use from a 5 to a 9 iron depending on how far you are from the putting surface.
Flop shot - Is a chip shot usually attempted with a very high lofted club. Used to get the ball up quickly and let it land very softly with minimal roll. Good for getting over greenside hazards and when you have very little green to work with.

Being skilled at making these shots will save strokes and give you a lot of options for getting close to the pin.

The good news is that you do not need to learn a new swing in order to play these skill shots. Adjustments to your full swing setup are the key, you still rotate your shoulders away going back and forward drawing power from the large muscles of the legs and torso.

Learning the adjustments needed to your stance, such as how wide, where should the ball be positioned, do you open to the target, where do you position your weight, do you angle the club shaft, what should the length of the swing and more all require a lot of practice to master.

Next time you go to a practice facility put a block of time aside for short game shots, and practice them until they become second nature, your scoring will improve, and your golfing partners will envy your shot making ability.

Refining your Game With a Golf Net

A great way to improve your golf game is to buy a golf net. Golfers invest in golf nets for a variety of reasons depending on their skill level, their ability to practice, and their own goals for their golf game. A golf practice net is a great way to improve your accuracy, your swing, and even your stance. A golf net will allow you to practice all of the elements crucial to your golf game in just about any space, big or small. A golf cage net will also allow avid golfers to have a place to practice their swing even when they can’t get to the course or the driving range.
Because golfers will use their golf nets in a variety of areas, one can find a variety of golf ball net solutions. When you go to any golf shop or even shop online you’ll find that there is a golf hitting net in just about every price range, which is good news because you’ll typically be able to find a quality product that will help you achieve the desired results and changes to your golf game. If you aren’t necessarily shopping for a golf net to improve your game but just to have the ability to practice anywhere at anytime, you’ll also find that there is golf practice net that will fit your needs as well as your budget.
If you are shopping for a simple golf training net you’ll likely find something like the Chip Shot Pop UP Chipping Net. This is a very simple net that will simply act as a stopper for all of your golf balls. While this product does not have a target in the rear of it, it does offer one the ability to see where their ball will land after each and every swing so you can still practice your swing, your stance, as well as your accuracy. This type of net will usually cost about $30.00 and can be used as an indoor golf net as well as an outdoor net.
If you want something a bit more upscale you can always go for the P-Net Golf Practice Net. This golf net offers a target as well as small sides to help keep the balls in the net even if they go off to the sides a bit. The target at the back of this golf net will help improve accuracy and build confidence with a new stance, a new swing, or the beginner that just wants to get a grasp of all of the fundamentals of golf. This type of golf practice net will run a bit more, costing about $110.00 but is well worth it for those that want a professional quality golf net at their disposal.
A wrap around golf net is a great idea. This type of golf net almost looks like a little dome. This half dome like construction helps to catch miss-hits for the golfer so that chasing down balls does not take up all of ones practice time. The wrap around golf net is actually a three sided net or tent like structure and is one of the most useful golf nets that you can buy. Many of these products simply pop right up and golf down quickly so that it can be taken anywhere at a moments notice.
A golf net really is a great tool for any golfer and you’ll find that most experts have their very own golf net to further their skills. A great golfer is one that realizes he or she must always improve their game to stand out, and a golf net is a great way to practice your golf game in the comfort of your own home or backyard. When you consider how much a net can help you improve or gain confidence in your golfing abilities you’ll find that it is a necessary investment for any golfer.

Golf – Courses of the Ageless Game

Before we begin to give you additional information on this topic, take a moment to think about how much you already know.
The game of Golf as we know it has been played ever because 1672 in Scotland. because that time, it has become very prevalent. Golf is one of those sports that span a time of live “the game”.
Golf is one of those playoffs relating globe play that does not have a definite domain of play. The golf courses are magnificent but they are all different lacking even 2 being alike. This is beautiful incredible because every other globe sport has a prescribed domain of play. (There are some sports that may not monitor an careful dimension of live domain but might have to colonize for what is untaken such as covered polo.) When you think that no 2 courses are alike and there is an estimated 32,000 courses throughout the world, this is just incredible. Of course this is what makes golf what it is. You can move all around the country or the world and never play the same game double.
What about the courses themselves?
- Are you looking for a course near your home?
- Are you looking for a course near a leave you plan to take?
- Are you looking for a golf leave and don’t know where to gain?
We hope that you have gained a clear grasp of the subject matter presented in the first half of this article.
You can accept up the hottest duplicate of one of the Golf magazines and read up on the hottest “best” courses as graded by that municipalation. I normal a call a few existence back from somebody tiresome to recruit me into his selling. Magazine “A” spotlighted that party as the party of the month! I told the caller, that Magazine “A” highlighted whoever rewarded them the fee. End of Conversation. You want my guidance on choosing the right course for your leave? If you can stop the elevated green fees, read the magazines and when you get there for your leave, there will be the duplicate of the critique under the wineglass and on top of the wineglass will be the “New and superior” green fees. That’s ok if you plan to do nothing moreover but golf.
If you go on leave and plan to take in other attractions, find the attractions that you want to see to resolve where you want to go. Then look for your golf courses and resorts. save you live right there, you will forever find courses that you have not played. Even if you leave there every year, by the time you get back, there will doubtless be another golf course built anyhow! (Just a trait notice. Can you suppose any municipalation having enough body time to play about 8,000 courses, in the United States solitary and grade them for their top 100 accepts?)
If you are looking for courses right where you live, you can take the time and vacation the course and see it for manually. If you are forecast a leave, this may be a different buzz. You can do a lot of study on the Internet. Don’t bounds manually to the concealed courses because some of the municipal courses are very well maintained. After all, if your move hundreds of miles for your leave, I’m indeed you will want to “try out” a number of courses while you are there.
What you have learned while reading this informative article, is knowledge that you can keep with you for a lifetime.

Laura all set for Hero Women's Open

Laura Davies has arrived at DLF Golf and Country Club in New Delhiproblem-free this year ahead of her Srixon XXIO Prime SP500 Iron Set title defence at the Hero Women's Indian Open.

Last year, the four-time major champion arrived without her clubs and was only reunited with them on the morning of the first round, before she went out and to shoot 65 and lead the tournament.

But It's just as well that her new set of Srixon XXIO Prime SP500 Iron Set and putter arrived on schedule this year, as her first round tee-time on Friday is 7.40am.

In a big-hitting group, she has been drawn with fellow Solheim Cup player Sophie Gustafson and the recent Lacoste Ladies Open de France champion Felicity Johnson for the first two rounds.

Although Davies may suffer a little jet-lag on account of her late arrival, she thought it would be worse for her caddie Johnny Scott, who missed his original flight and will now land inNew Delhijust a few hours before the tee-time.

Gazing down the stunning par-five 18th hole at the DLF G and CC on Thursday, which she eagled to make a play-off last year before winning the Srixon XXIO Prime SP500 Iron Set with a birdie, Davies seemed relaxed and confident.

She said: "I'm looking forward to it. Obviously something went right last year. It was a very strange week last year.

"I hit a horrible tee shot down the first (onto the 18th fairway) but made an amazing seven-iron over the trees to about 10 feet and holed the putt for eagle, so it's only good memories for me."

This week will be a fresh start after a five week break and Davies will be looking to end the season on a high note at the penultimate event of the 2011 Ladies European Tour season.

Like last year, she will not play a practice round, as she didn't feel the need: "I'll be straight out tomorrow: ready to go."

She added on her overall season: "I just won a small event in Australiain February, so for me it's very disappointing. Sometimes it doesn't work out. I've actually played Srixon XXIO Prime SP500 Iron Set better this year than last year, but I haven't holed as many putts and that unfortunately at the top level putting is the big difference."

She is hoping that her new Srixon XXIO Prime SP500 Iron Set, a 'Never Compromise' model, will help to change her fortunes but acknowledged that she was playong against a stronger field this year.

"There are a lot of good players. The field strength has gone up. That's what usually happens. They hear how good the tournament was and they say, 'I'm going to go there next year.'

"Now we've got Caroline Hedwall and Sophie Gustafson and quite a few of the European players who didn't come last year but heard good reports from the other players and have decided to come here and then play Dubai, so it's a nice little two week trip."

The first round of the tournament gets under way at 7am on Friday and after two rounds, the field of 108 will be reduced to the leading 60 professionals and those tied for 60th place.

Gainey and Quinney share Wyndham lead

Americans Jeff Quinney and Tommy Gainey carded seven-under 63s to share the first round lead of the Wyndham Championship on Thursday, while others scrambled to qualify for the FedExCup playoffs.

Quinney, chasing his first PGA Tour win, held the lead alone for much of the day thanks to five consecutive birdies from the 12th at a steamy Sedgefield Country Club.

He was joined late in the day by Gainey, who signed off with an unblemished round that included five birdies and an eagle on the par-five fifth.

Lurking one shot back is Australian Stuart Appleby, who also enjoyed an error-free afternoon returning a 64.

"I'm in a position right now where I've only played 11 events with Callaway RAZR X Irons this year and haven't had a great go of it," Quinney told reporters. "The only chance I get in the playoffs is probably winning this week ... just push all your chips in and this is what I got."

As the event is the last in the PGA Tour's regular season, there was plenty of action on the leaderboard with some of golf's bigger names battling for a place in the lucrative season-ending finale.

Only the top 125 players after this week qualify for the first of the four FedExCup playoffs and former world number one South African Ernie Els, Briton Paul Casey and major winners Irishman Padraig Harrington and Argentine Angel Cabrera have work to do to earn a spot in the Aug. 25-28 Barclays Classic.

Casey and Els got their bids off to a positive start by carding five-under 65s to join to a pack of 10 golfers sitting two off the pace.

Also in the group are Fijian Vijay Singh and American Jim Furyk, whose round included two eagles on his first nine.

Cabrera endured a rollercoaster afternoon mixing an eagle and five birdies with four bogeys for a three-under 67 while Harrington's chances of qualifying dimmed with 69.

"You think about it (FedExCup playoffs)," admitted Els. "It's one of the reasons why I'm here, you want to get in.

"My playoffs have started this week because if I don't play Callaway RAZR X Irons well this week I'm not advancing."

American Jason Dufner, who lost the PGA Championship in a playoff to Keegan Bradley after squandering a five-shot lead over the final three holes of regulation on Sunday, carded a solid 66 that included five birdies and a bogey.

Callaway X-20 Irons win credit for itself

Giving up is easy, perseverance is hard! I was exhausted to death recently, I feel lost and hesitate to give up my plans sometimes, however, this is not an easy matter, the minute when I do not want to insist, and I am so tired! I began to regret to do so much before, and then I persuade myself: never give up! It is undeserving.

Each day after work, I have to prepare for the lessons, listen the BBC news, I continually tell myself that listening ability is significant even though I will not take part in the TEM8 next year, after all, I can not promise what is my job in the future, I have to prepare adequately. I need to find the one that full of dreams, not the one full of hesitation this moment; I believe that perseverance means victory.

Like the newbie, Callaway X-20 Irons, which wins credit for itself in 2011, this Irons crafted to give you the world's most forgiving performance, and experience the same great playability that X Series Irons are known for with technology, innovation and playability design elements that take them – and your game – to the next level. Callaway Golf engineers lowered the center of gravity (CG) an additional 6 percent, progressively, throughout the X-20 set (over the X-18 Irons) for improved feel.

And Extreme Notch Weighting redistributes more weight to the extreme perimeter of the clubhead, creating a high moment of inertia (MOI) for greater forgiveness and more stability. The 360-Degree Undercut Channel maximizes perimeter weighting by moving the CG lower and farther back in the clubhead, enlarging the hitting area and stabilizing the clubhead for more forgiveness.

VFT Technology maximizes ball speed and perimeter weighting for more distance and forgiveness. It allows Callaway Golf engineers to raise or lower the CG for optimum trajectory with each iron in the set, giving a higher launch angle in the long irons and better trajectory height in the short irons and wedges. Callaway X-20 Irons worth the price, $280.99!

The Short Straight Hollow Hosel (S2H2) increases discretionary weight by removing it from the hosel and repositioning it in the perimeter of the clubhead. The Tru-Bore design improves feel and clubhead control by allowing the shaft to extend through the hosel to the sole. Standard Shaft: Callaway Golf X-20 Men's Graphite

I found it at wholesale golf clubs, because of the discount information before Christmas, The registered users get over $500 enjoy 5% discount, over 1000 enjoy 10% discount. That is really attractive! In my opinion, if we golfers want to play it well, we have to choose a good and charming item; I think I choose right this time.

Whatever happen, I have to be responsible for myself, choose what I love, and insist what I choose in the beginning. I should learn the item which win credit for itself, then draw attentions all around the world.
